Colloquium under Spanish Presidency of European Union and Union for Mediterranean
Engineering Education for innovative Sustainable Development for Mediterranean

The Conference will pursue the exchange of best practices between EU and the East and South Mediterranean countries for scientific and technical education-industry cooperation and propose a platform of dialog for QA harmonization.

ENQHEEI has proposed to the Presidency and the General Secretariat of the UfM to organize with the Technical University of Catalonia-BARCELONA TECH and RMEI-Réseau méditerranéen des écoles d'ingénieurs in partnership with the members of innovation and stakeholders networks an EU/UfM Spanish Presidency Anniversary conference in Barcelona . It will bring together partners of the UfM and be open to other non-EU partners.
The Conference will pursue the exchange of the best practices for scientific and technical education-industry cooperation. Working sessions will focus on objectives and standards for evaluating education/industry cooperation, as well as teaching/learning objectives for sustainability.
The Conference will also have the participation of those involved in higher education- industrial cooperation from Russia, Black Sea and USA, as well as delegates representing the engineering accreditation agencies of those countries.
During the workshops, participants will discuss the main components of engineering education- innovation-industry cooperation:in priority areas:
- National policies for promoting excellence: e.g., Excellenzinitiativ, Clusters, Campus of Excellence ...
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development
- Tools of the Triangle Education-Research-Innovation
The provisional programme of the Conference is scheduled on one day and a half: June 17-18.

The Presidency and the General Secretariat of the UfM deliver opening speeches on Thursday, June 17 morning after the welcoming speeches of UPC Rector, ENQHEEI and RMEI Presidents co-organizers.
Key-note speakers will belong to the main Mediterranean networks of universities and industry companies.
Successive workshops will take place on Thursday, June 17 afternoon for the exchange of selected best practices. On Friday June 18 morning, the conclusions and recommendations adopted in each workshop will be summarized by the General Reporter following that the participants of a roundtable of national authorities and key stakeholders will discuss and validate. All participants from academy, industry, stakeholders and those involved in innovation will be invited to join a platform of dialogue for a Quality System for excellence. The Presidency and the General Secretariat of the UfM may embrace the resolutions that are adopted.
